The North Carver Water District seeks a qualified applicant for a full time position as an Assistant Drinking Water Treatment Plant Operator. Minimum requirements are MASS. T2 full, D1 full, high school diploma or GED, drivers license.

FT benefited position.  Starting salary 65,056 to 68,659. Salary range up to 82,414. The incumbent oversees and supervises the Water Division staff and the completion of any assigned projects.  Responsible for managing all maintenance and repair of water systems and metering. Develops systems for on-going maintenance and repair to the town water system. Ensures compliance with all applicable local, State, and federal regulations for drinking water supply. Completes all state Department of Environmental Protection reports. Provides emergency response to water service interruptions and ensures efficient and economical repairs; resolves customer complaints; resolves disputes over water quality and inadequate pressure. Answers emergency calls and serves as “Primary Operator” as defined by the Massachusetts DEP. Active in the formulation of the water division budget and recommends purchase of larger equipment. Performs all other related work, as required.  High School diploma, with additional technical training; five to seven years of supervisory experience in the operation of a water system or Grade II drinking water supply facility; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Full time position available as a station maintenance operator at the Bourne Water District. Experience in the water supply field preferred. Must have a D-1 water distribution license and the ability to obtain a D-3 within 18 months. Must have a T-I treatment license.   Computer experience necessary.  High School Diploma or equivalency necessary. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license a must. This is a responsible professional work classification. This person will be primarily responsible for all facets of drinking water compliance and interaction with the public and regulatory agencies. This individual is required to have a Grade II Drinking Water Distribution license and Grade II Treatment License, as well a Backflow Prevention Device Inspectors License and Backflow Surveyors License or ability to obtain.
