WATER SUPERINTENDENT / ASSISTANT DPW DIRECTOR
The Town of Avon is seeking applicants for a newly created Water Superintendent/Assistant Public Works Director position. This position will serve as the town’s primary water operator while assisting the DPW Director with all public works operations. Avon DPW has a variety of ongoing infrastructure projects, and we are looking for an individual who would like to advance their knowledge of Public Works operations and be part of a great team. Provides professional, technical, administrative, and supervisory work for the proper oversight and safe operation of Avon’s water system. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field; a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in municipal water operations and public works; Massachusetts Drinking Water Supply Operator’s licenses Grade 2 Distribution and Grade 2 Treatment, and a valid driver’s license. Training, experience, licensure, with demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities, will also be considered. Starting salary of $95,000+/-.
