Position: Assistant Superintendent/Treatment Plant Manager – NON-UNION – Pay grade $38.59 to $43.27 Reports to: Superintendent
Status: Full time, schedule will vary according to the recommendations from the Superintendent. Must be willing to work overtime and respond on scene within 30 minutes of a call.

The primary function of all District employees is to provide the most efficient and effective service in the delivery of potable drinking water. The employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. The employee is expected to wear proper attire. The employee must be able to speak to the public in a professional manner.
Primary duties of the Treatment Plant Manager:
Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent is the Operations Manager for the treatment plant. Plan schedules and daily work for plant operators. Prepares and files reports with DEP and EPA. Keeps in compliance with all sampling schedules. Must be able to multi task in an environment that can be fast paced and technical. Is the Primary Operator for the District unless otherwise stated by the Superintendent. Performs skilled technical and manual work in the operation, repair, servicing and maintenance of the treatment plant and pump stations. Working knowledge of the district’s treatment process and raw water stations as well as an understanding of the distribution system. Responds to emergencies during or after working hours to ensure public safety. May be asked to perform duties in the distribution system if needed. In the absence of the Superintendent the Assistant/Plant Manager will assume the duties of the Superintendent.
Education and Experience requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, Associate Degree preferred T2/D2 Massachusetts water operator’s license in full
6 months to obtain required licenses Class C Massachusetts driver’s license 10 years’ experience in water industry Computer proficient in word and excel
Physical activity requirements:
Occasionally lift and or move up to 100lbs
Standing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, hearing and repetitive motions are required. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
