Water Division Technician
Town of Avon, Massachusetts
The Town of Avon seeks an energetic DPW Water Division Technician. Responsible for assisting in the operation, repair and maintenance of the water treatment and distribution system, and other public works duties as assigned. Opportunities for broad water system experience and advancement. Applicants should have water operation experience and must be capable of light to moderate facility maintenance tasks as required. High school diploma or GED equivalent; drinking water training/certificate, including 1D or 1T OIT or higher at hiring strongly preferred. Candidates must have, or be able to obtain within an agreed upon period: 2T and 2D Water Operator’s license; Class B Airbrake CDL license or better; and hoisting license with 2B/4G endorsements or better. Rate of pay $21.62/hour plus excellent benefits. The work week is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Candidates must have ability to work overtime as necessary.
